White veganism is entirely a fad based on moral high ground while vegetarian and vegan cuisines and religions have existed in asia for fuckin centuries
This is exactly why I don’t fuck with white militant vegans. Take your poorly disguised racism elsewhere, thanks.

“Why wasn’t friendship as good as a relationship? Why wasn’t it even better? It was two people who remained together, day after day, bound not by sex or physical attraction or money or children or property, but only by the shared agreement to keep going, the mutual dedication to a union that could never be codified.”— Hanya Yanagihara, A Little Life

“To acknowledge our ancestors means we are aware that we did not make ourselves. We remember them because it is an easy thing to forget; that we are not the first to suffer, rebel, fight, love and die. The grace with which we embrace life, in spite of the pain, the sorrows, is always a measure of what has gone before.”— Alice Walker, “In These Dissenting Times” (via naughtynicesugarspice)

being compassionate to yourself involves making it a discipline to do the things that you love, no matter how many times you attempt to convince yourself that it’s no use. being compassionate with yourself involves sitting down and writing, even when you feel insecure about the work you’re producing. being compassionate with yourself involves taking a walk outside because you haven’t had any fresh air the whole day. being compassionate with yourself involves committing yourself to learning something new even if it hasn’t gone well many times before. being compassionate with yourself is about committing to the discipline of self-betterment and healing.
in order to really do anything you need to love and handle the possibility of failure, treat it as something invigorating, much like the vigor that comes from passion. loving your tiny failures are truly transformative, as they bring you closer to what it is you want to get out of the experience in the first place. what are experiences w/o the possibility of failure and learning? nothing. that in itself is a failed experience.
